  1. The beautiful gift of the State of Swat, which served every generation of Swat sports for many decades, but in this decade the district administration of Swat and the associated politicians have snatched it away from the public. Both the administration and the politicians should be ashamed that while in every corner of the country there are already many grounds and stadiums, and new stadiums are being built as well.

I believe that building Mingora was not for the people of Swat at all, but for those traders, and the thinking was that if anyone in Swat would ever own a motor car, it would only be the royal family and those same traders. That is why a network of roads was laid across Swat including Mingora, but without any map and without thinking about the future.

Remember, the Wali of Swat did not need to buy land for roads, rather he would take property from us Pakhtuns for free and in the next Wesh [the periodic land redistribution system] that person would get his full land back. So if the rulers of Swat had thought about it, they could have saved Swat from this traffic rush and narrow roads from that very time, but its rulers never wanted the progress of the Pakhtun nation. That is why they did not rest until they turned a paradise like Swat into a hell for the Pakhtun nation.

If Swat had been under the British at that time, the roads would have been wide and the train would have reached Swat by now. But by putting the Pakhtuns behind the saints [mystics/pirs], their bright future was darkened, and propaganda is being spread that the administration of that time put Swat on the path of progress. But the reality is the opposite of that and the result is clearly visible that the people of Swat are centuries behind the rest of Pakistan.

My friend, where in the world has it happened that the Grassy Ground is taken back and filled with concrete to make it a car parking? If you had to take the Grassy Ground at all, you should have first built its alternative and done this after it was ready. In my opinion, this entire negligence is of the administration of the State of Swat, which built narrow roads only for its own motor car for an evening drive, with the thinking that the people of Swat are not even capable of buying a car, so what is the need for a wide road. And when the bazaars of Mingora being built, parking arrangements should have been made at various places.

I hope this writing will be taken positively. You must remember the roads on the other side of Malakand at that time, where beside the paved road there was unpaved space equal to or more than the size of the paved road on both sides. That was the kind of thinking about what was going to happen in the coming decades.
