معلوماتِ عامہ کی انگریزی ویب سائٹ "britannica.com” کے مطابق ’’پیٹر سیلرز‘‘ (Peter Sellers)، مشہور برطانوی اداکار، 8 ستمبر 1925ء کو ساؤتھ سی، برطانیہ میں پیدا ہوئے۔
اصل نام "Richard Henry Sellers”تھا۔ ڈرم بجانے سے کام کا آغاز کیا اور آہستہ آہستہ مِزاحیہ اداکاری کی طرف رجحان بڑھا۔ ونڈ ملز تھیٹر (لندن) میں اپنی صلاحیتوں کو جلا بخشی۔ 1951ء میں ریڈیو پر "The Goon Show” میں اپنی صلاحیتوں کا بہ خوبی اظہار کیا۔ 1950 ء اور 1960ء کے درمیان اچھے مِزاحیہ اداکاروں میں شمار ہونے لگے۔ 1961ء میں ان کی ریلیز ہونے والی فلم "Topaze” نے انھیں ناقدین کی نظروں میں لایا۔ ناقدین نے انھیں جینئس (Genius) کا خطاب دیا۔ 24 جولائی 1980ء کو لندن، برطانیہ میں انتقال کرگئے۔
